Changes to pubs and clubs in QLD
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced that from today, patrons visiting licensed venues must stay seated.
This afternoon Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced that from today, patrons visiting licensed venues in Queensland must stay seated to consume food and drinks.
"It's an important step in helping people maintain appropriate social distancing," The Premier said.
"The same number of people are allowed into venues, and you can still order food and drinks from the bar.
"We want Queensland business to be able to welcome back customers, but we need to work together to keep our community safe and our economic recovery moving forward."
Its believed the changes have been announced after both NSW and Victoria experienced dramatic rises in COVID cases and that the Queensland Government is bracing for a second wave.
The changes are to come into effect immediately.
