Cowpokes celebrate beginning of Rodeo Season

YOUNG cowboys and cowgirls put on their best dress this weekend to kick off the Mareeba Rodeo with their annual Junior Cowpokes competition.

This year, Xavier Aloia and Chelsea-Lee Mitchell were named Junior Cowgirl and Cowboy whilst Lexi Ariotti and Tristan Tiraboschi were crown Senior Cowgirl and Cowboy.

The competition gave kids the chance to find their favourite boots and hats and show off their personalities, talents and love for the annual festivities.
