THE Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre has recently received funding allowing them to develop and design a destination website to promote Mareeba.
Under the Small Business COVID-19 Adaptation Grant Program the Centre will now be able to construct a website catered to tourism and appealing to local, interstate and international visitors.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) will match the funding awarded to ensure the new website is aligned with the region’s brand platform ‘See Great, Leave Greater’ slogan.
Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre General Manager Janet Greenwood is excited to have been successful in the grant application.
“With the impact of COVID-19 across our small community we looked at the best way to support the critical role we play in promoting tour operators, local businesses, events and general services in Mareeba,” she said.
“This became increasingly difficult when our doors closed for a short period of time however with TTNQ’S matched funding we were encouraged to submit for the grant.
“We submitted on the deadline with 91% of the potential funding already awarded and are super surprised and excited to be successful.”
RJ New Designs have been chosen to design the new website that will feature beautiful imagery, with the most accurate, up-to-date information, with pages including how to get here, attractions, dining, shopping, accommodation, camping, general services, indigenous culture, history of Mareeba, events, news and a new FAQ page.
Amongst the features the site will be fully responsive, across mobile and desktop platforms, be compliant with Google’s mobile friendly update and will provide a stunning, professional online presence containing integrated social media buttons to foster improved communication with our visitors.
