TAKING place over the May long weekend this year, the Mt Garnet Races and Rodeo is only one of a handful of events approved to go ahead and is looking forward to welcoming people for three days full of bull bucking and racing fun.
Running from April 29 until May 2, the weekend long event will showcase rodeo action in the arena as well as horse racing on track.
Mount Garnet Rodeo Association Secretary Kylie Rankine is excited that the races and rodeo will go ahead this year, but asks for people to be understanding of the new rules and regulations.
“We can’t wait for this years event, it is coming together beautifully and will be here in just over a week,” she said.
“We would like to acknowledge all the excitement within the community and afar.
“We ask you all to be patient with us as there is a lot of extra protocols as per COVID guidelines and restrictions.”
When arriving at the main gate you will need to scan the QR code provided and sign in for the weekend then answer some COVID related questions.
After answering the questions, you will either be directed into the venue or to their medical facility at the front gate if exhibiting COVID like symptoms.
For $90 you can buy an adult weekend pass or a day pass for $25, however it is a cash only main gate and there will be no EFTPOS facilities.
