SPLASHES of colour and the smell of food will fill Arnold Park in August as the Mareeba Multicultural Festival is set to make its return, filling the hearts and tummies of locals and visitors.
The Mareeba Multicultural Festival was cancelled last year due to COVID, however planning is now underway for the event to be held on Saturday, August 28.
The Festival is well looked forward to by many members of Mareeba and surrounding towns as they flock to Arnold Park for a day full of food, dance and fun.
Mareeba Multicultural Festival president Jennifer Murat is excited for the festival to be held this year after being put on a one-year COVID hiatus.
“The committee are excited to be able to hopefully plan the event and for it to go ahead this year,”
“We have been contacted by previous performers and stall holders asking questions and inquiring about this year’s festival.
“We’re trying to make this event as safe as we can.”
Fingers crossed that this year, planned events will go ahead with minimal to no disruptions after the bare year of events we witnessed last year.
For more information on the upcoming festival and when to book your performance or stall, keep an eye on the Mareeba Multicultural Festival Facebook page.
