VISITORS and locals will be welcomed into the Tablelands region by stylish new entry signs at key locations.

The new signs are bright and bold, having a combination of weathering steel, uncoated and colour-coated steel.

Four sites have become the home of the new signs with two installed on the Kennedy Highway near Sugarbag Station and north of Walkamin and at the top of the Palmerston Highway and Gillies Range.

“Not only do these signs welcome people to our region but they also remind them to return again soon,” Tablelands Regional Councillor Dave Bilney said.

“It’s really important that people recognise they are entering our region and, regardless of whether they’re locals or visitors, we are glad they’re here.

“They will provide a strong and consistent theme to connect and identify our region and also celebrate each community’s unique identity.”

These signs are one of the first steps taken in the implementation of TRC’s Tourism and Community Signage Strategy, TRC is also looking forward to starting the development of main town entry and welcome to country signs over the next two years.
