Jacob Berry-Porter is a Year 7 student at Atherton State High School and recently placed 2nd in the 200m sprint for 13 boys at State Athletics.

Jacob, however, elected to not compete or progress any further in competition this year, but the young gun plans to be well prepared for next year’s sporting events.

He aims to make the National team next year for the 100m and 200m sprints and is planning to be trained by a local coach throughout 2025.

He also plans to compete in the ANQ (Athletics North Queensland) next year in the hope of making the Queensland team for his events.

Jacob also plays hockey and has represented both Peninsula and Cairns at State competitions and also hopes to make the Queensland team for that in 2025.
